I thought that was a pretty good article. I actually installed both FireFox plugins they recommended. Autocopy and COlt, I hope those two extensions increase my blogging productivity.
The one thing I would love to see for WordPress is a bookmarklet interface very very similar to Tumblr’s post it bookmarklet as then blogging stuff I find across the internet would probably be a bit more fun.
I keep hearing the term bookmarklet and it sounds to me like a cop out. If you are going to writing JavaScript then it could be better applied at actually making a Firefox Extension. It isn’t that difficult.
There should be a way to assign various quality scores to posts. Even dozens of them, if needed. The idea is that readers are different so some scores would suit some readers. Also if these scores are accessible in a standard format, a feed reader or web service can have a feature where composite scores can be calculated just as to maximize correlation based on individual feedback. I am saying all this just so as to draw attention to the need to change our mindset from quantity (of posts and viewers) to quality (of posts and viewers).
An avid fan of business, education, technology and finance. I lead a lean, highly focussed and capable team of Java Back End developers and Front End developers through a maze of complex software wizardry to fulfill the web maintenance needs of a large chemical manufacturer. As per Myers-Briggs Personality Types, I am an ESTJ. I pride in a project completed on time and according to plan. My hobbies include all kinds of technology, anything that I can taste and anything that goes fast or flies in the air. I like to read business books and comics in my spare time.
Seriously now, who in their right state of mind uses Firefox…
