Mark - Just in case you were wondering, my theme (Structure) is licensed under the "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license." Not all themes are GPL either. I do agree that some theme authors need to be more open about the licensing. I try to always mention in several places and provide a "license.txt" file with my themes, so that there are no licensing issues. Also, footer links are very commonplace. It really needs no mention, as long as it's a link back to the theme author's site. Thanks for posting one of my themes again.
