The hidden link issue has been resolved and it has nothing to do with the theme author. It is generated by the wp-linksback plugin. Thanks to Joanna for her help in determining the problem. Thanks to Peter for standing up for his right.

We are the author of OceanWide theme. I’m not sure what you are talking about. We do not have any kind of hidden paid link in our theme, and I just re-checked the download zip file, and it looks clean. I suspect that the owner of linksback.org (with whom we don’t have any kind of affiliation) inserted such a hidden link in our theme, and redistributes it somewhere else without our permission. We observed this kind of stealing happened in the past.

Just wanted to point out that there is a paid link at the bottom of the Ocean Wide theme. It links to: linksback.org with the text ‘WP-Definitions’. It’s an SEO article database. And the author went through a great deal of effort to hide it. Because even though it shows up in the footer of the theme I can’t see where the link actually is in the coding.

Justin, I couldn’t agree more! I was blown away with Visionary theme. It’s an outstanding design. Head and shoulders above the norm.

I also like DivBlack, but think the text color is too hard to read.
