AdSense Video Ads: Google recently launched click-to-play video ads, a new ad format for sites in the AdSense network. All you need to do is have one of their supported ad formats and choose to display images as well as text. Anyone seen these video ads yet?

  2. Yes, I’ve seen them on The Superficial (love this site and how it takes the piss out of celebrities). I think, for now, they’re only using them on high traffic sites, but I could be wrong. The other thing is that most people prefer using text ads only, and you have to opt in to text or image ads for the videos to show up, apparently.

  3. I believe Google is rolling the new Adwords video ad format out to advertisers in the US, Canada and Japan at launch to get feedback, before releasing it worldwide. Like any other format its effectiveness will rely heavily on advertisers’ creativity, or how much they’re willing to spend on rich media content providers (could provide some new jobs or more work for people in those areas).
