Thanks to Azmeen and MSN, I was able to read the article and I can see both sides of the coin.

Was it harsh? Entirely.
Was it warranted harshness? In my opinion, yes.

Rick was upset because someone, who obviously didn't take the time to read his blog, simply decided to e-mail him for free exposure (I've written about this same thing myself).

But, something else in the final e-mail sent by Greg stood out to me - he asked for advice on how to approach others in the future.

The fact that Greg took the time to respond to Rick's original e-mail, and how he was trying to engage Rick only showed just how green Greg really was on the world of blogs and marketing.

Sure, he was asking for free advice, and Rick is well within his rights to say he doesn't give out free advice. But, the response was quite curt on Rick's part (i.e. posting a flaming rant with liberal usage of the word "stupid") and didn't even address Greg's final question.

It's obvious Rick wasn't posting with a cool and level head and, personally, that's why I believe it was pulled.

Business Blog Consulting was not presented in a wholly professional light, and it was quite derogatory.

There's a way to get a point across without being derogatory and still offer helpful advice to the clueless.

My 2 cents...
