WP hack: Widgetizing Themes Modify your themes to work with the cool Wordpress.com widgets for the sidebar. Explanation of widgets on the Automattic page.
[EDIT] Widgets Plugin with demonstrations from Andy.
Peter has just released v1.2 of his Sociable Plugin.
It fixes a few more bugs to make it compatible with WordPress 1.5 as well as 2.0.
Social bookmarking sites allow websurfers to save, catalog, and share interesting pages they find online.
The Sociable plugin appends links for your readers to use those sites to the end of each of your blog’s posts, increasing your potential audience.
So I am looking to remove some of the items in my news feeds and add new ones. I read a whole bunch of relevant topics along with a whole bunch of unrelated and useless feeds that are interesting to me but not really of any “news” value. In all, I have about three hundred feeds that I try to peruse everyday. I recently started using FeedDemon again and remembered (again!) why I like FeedDemon as much as I did while I beta tested it. I just could not see paying a whole lot for a feed reader but the usability and the control is SO worth it.
I found out that a whole bunch of my daily reads were not being updated anymore or had bad URIs. So I am looking for suggestions. What do you read? (I hope others can benefit from this as well)
WP plugin: Sprint Post This plugin makes moblogging from Sprint PCS phones really simple. I had written something like this a couple of years ago. It screen-scrapes the Sprint Picture Mail email,
downloads the picture to the server, and formats a post to display it. For those that have not tried moblogging or blogging pictures from cell phones, it can become quite the habit and really quite cool. I stopped doing this sometime ago, but the original blog still exists at http://mindfulmusings.net/moblog/
