Wordpress Theme(s) optimized for AdSense?

Please subscribe to our RSS feed for new articles. We report on Wordpress news, themes, plugins, ideas, hacks, quick fixes and everything about blogging, especially about Wordpress. You can also receive updates from this blog via email if you want that method of notification.

I know that there are literally thousands of themes for Wordpress 1.5 and above. However, has anyone put together a set of themes for Wordpress that makes clever (highly optimized, targeted) use of AdSense and/or other advertising media? I am sure there is a HUGE demand for such a product. Heck, I would be willing to wager that a “donate” button for such a theme creator would be used much more often (especially if the optimizations work well). Are there any such themes out there?

  1. Heh, funny that you wonder this.
Actually, I’m helping a bit right now a quite well-known web author to package a WP theme, which will be fully adsense featured, built from the author’s own experience with his own site and adsense tweaking.
Sorry for being a bit ‘mysterious’, I’ll leave it upon the theme author if he wants to comment further on :)

  3. Hi,

I don’t think there is a theme *especially* created for adsense, but you can edit every theme and put the ads wherever you want, you just *gotta know* where to put them. Check out my blog: weasel’s blog - you see how the ads are placed in key points of the page? Well, it could be better, but these placements work pretty good.
Also check out these optimization tips from Google.

    Good luck!

  4. The default theme for wordpress kind of limits you for horizontal banner type ads. I ended up taking the theme I had and adding some horizontal length so I could get some things to fit now. I would also recommend the Adsense plug-ins, and customizing your css so that you can space the units better.

  5. Wordpress themes optimized for Adsense

Wordpress is great for blogging, you don`t have to know a thing about design and there´s no problem at all to publish to the Internet. But if you would like to have Google Adsense integrated in your blog´s design and you don`t know how, you have a p…

  11. I’m thinking to create one Wordpress template design with AdSense in mind and releasing it for free. Perhaps this can build my baclinks network for my new very-baby-blog.

  13. i don’t think that adsense themes are the way to go. I think the problem there would be that publishers would get to lazy and rely on a theme/style too much…. besides, google’s already come out w/a recommendation on how to position adsense for higher ctr Improve Your Blog’s Adsense CTR

Besides, i think there are a lot of plugins that do the job nicely….
