WordPress Plugin: Khanh’s Content Adder
Have you wanted to add an extra button to the Admin Panel or Quicktag toolbar? Usually, you’d have to edit the core Wordpress files, or be limited to what and where you can add stuff. With KCA you can add HTML/Javascript anywhere there’s an ID attribute defined. Configuration is easy: Just upload and activate the plugin. Add a static page post with the content desired and you’re done. Cool! I get requests for a Quicktags hack for 1.5 all the time and now I know where to send them. I might even come up with a tutorial to add the quicktags hack using this. Now back to Pictorialis 1.1 Thanks BloggingPro

WordPress One Click Backup Version 1.3 22comments

Bob Apthrope (link?) has made some much needed modifications to my Wordpress One Click backup and has fixed some of the bugs and nagging problems mentioned by a lot of people. I appreciate his work. Here are some of the improved features and fixes:

  • date format is now YYYYMMDD-hhmmss so they sort nicely
  • The zip file only compresses the path relative to your WordPress install
  • Excluded archiving anything in the backup folder. This dramatically cuts down on the size of the backup files. No more recursive file backups.
  • Fixed a bug in the links to the just-created backup files - $siteurl wasn’t getting set. That was a minor fix.
  • Fixed a potential security hole. Rewrote some of the README file to give examples of Apache access control and provide a little extra security-through-obscurity.

Items not fixed yet include reported problems with WordPress 1.5. If I can get a bug report for some of those problems, I will fix them in the download.

Thanks Bob!

[EDIT] Ryan Boren has made this into a plugin for WordPress 1.5. Here is the link to the download zip. In this plugin version NO changes need to be made to the code Wordpress files. Thanks Ryan!

[EDIT] Wordpress One Click Backup plugin for non-passthru systems has been released

Peruns Blog - Some nice WordPress 1.2 Templates: I cannot understand a word of what they say, I don’t even know if they belong to Perun. Thank the author if you understand the language. [EDIT] from the author: The URI for all the templates: http://www.perun.net/archiv/category/templates/ Theo is right, these 3 Templates are from me and are free for use. These Templates are for WP 1.2x. The brown Template (Erdfarben=earthcolor; contains only modified CSS-File) is also usable with WP 1.5 in association with the classic Template from Dave Shea. (3)

Upload Ringtones, screensavers, games, backgrounds and more to your cell phone 65comments

Author: Mark Ghosh Category: Cool Scripts, General

I am adding some functionality to my cell phone upload script and would really appreciate some user testing my from readers. This page will let you upload pictures, ringtones, screensavers, games and applications (not done yet) to your cell phone (service limited to the US for now). The following cell phone services are supported. Sprint PCS, Alltel, AT&T Wireless, Cingular, TMobil and Verizon. I know that the SprintPCS service works since I have tested it with my phone. However, I have no way of testing the others and thats where my readers come in. Feel free to share the existence of this page with friends and family.

Cell Upload Page

Please report bugs here and thank you for testing this for me.
[EDIT]: If you test it and it does work for a specific service/phone, I would appreciate a small comment.

I fear there is a new wave of comment spam in the works 7comments

The comment spam floods have subsided very suddenly and it can only mean that the spammers are re-grouping or working on some killer app in the spamming world.
I am afraid that can only mean more trouble for us bloggers. Stay tuned.
